Quarter-Sawn Flooring

Quarter-Sawn vs. Perfect Quarter-Sawn

Standard Quarter-Sawn Flooring   Perfect Quarter-Sawn Flooring
You can legally call a floorboard
“quarter-sawn” if its grain is
between 60-90 degrees. This is
best flooring available from other
hardwood flooring companies.
  Our unique sawing process produces
floorboards that are of a much higher
quality with a much tighter grain –
between 80-90 degrees. Having the grain running perpendicular to the surface of the flooring, while far more time intensive to produce, cuts across the wood's ray cells yielding "ray-flecked" grain with a spectacularly iridescent and shimmering "flake figure".
