About Floor MedallionsQuarter-Sawn Flooring creates custom hardwood floor medallions and floor borders for residential and commercial designer floors. We received the NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) Wood Floor of the Year Award for our meticulous craftsmanship and choices of rare woods and grain patterns. Sometimes you want a floor medallion to stand out – to be a dominant feature of a room. In other situations you want a floor medallion that's subtler. In either case, a well-executed medallion features a variety of rich woods and beautiful natural grains. When we make a medallion for a customer, we talk to you about your ideas and goals for the piece, and share samples of the batch of wood that will be used in your installation.
Your medallion will be unique. We do not stock set sized medallion patterns. We do not have stock shapes stored in CNC databases. The medallions we create are handcrafted by experienced woodworkers at our workshop in Indiana. Your medallion will uniquely fill the space that it's in. most environmentally aware projects we have medallions crafted
from antique, river-recovered
logs – amazing old-growth timber
that has been sitting on the bottom
of the Ohio River for the past
90-130 years. These timbers have an interesting history that adds to the appreciation of the medallion.
